Security Guarding, monitoring and response

TACTICAL SUPPORT’s service line consists of the provision of premium security guarding services backed-up by tactical response to client sites. The installation and maintenance of electronic security systems can, at the option of the client, be managed and coordinated by TACTICAL SUPPORT through our approved third-party contractors. Identity Access Management services is a series of generic services, concepts, processes and controls, designed to manage the access control systems of our clients to ensure that these systems remain in-tact, trustworthy and up to date resulting in access being controlled and granted only to authorised persons or vehicles.

Our standard monthly guarding fee charged to the client includes placement of the security officers, equipment to be kept on the site and support services in an effort to ensure that the client site remains safe and secure. The security officers are supplied with uniform in combat style. A more formal corporate uniform may be supplied to officers working in a corporate environment should the client prefer such uniform. Equipment to be kept on site consists of Motorola base station two-way radios for communication with our vehicles and control room as well as Motorola or Kenwood portable two-way radios for each roaming or patrolling security officer on the site. Each roaming or patrolling security officer is provided with an LED Maglite torch with rechargeable batteries. The site is equipped with a battery charger at all times to allow for the charging of batteries as and when needed. Security Officers are equipped with pepper spray, tonfa batons and handcuffs and reflective vests are made available to be used at night during patrols if required by the client. Occurrence, visitor access control books and pens are also supplied to the security officers on site. No parking stickers and no parking vehicle detail registers are supplied should the client need these at an additional cost per sticker used by the security officers on site. Each site is equipped with a kettle and refreshment stock for the security officers on duty. Standard padded chairs are also made available to the security officers to be kept in the security guard house on site.

The support services included in the monthly guarding fee consists of regular site visits and patrols on site during the visits, perimeter checks, regular training of the security officers and response to the site should something adverse occur. TACTICAL SUPPORT also conducts highly visible operations in the areas that it operates to act as a deterrent and creates additional peace of mind for clients. TACTICAL SUPPORT warning signs are provided and installed around the outside perimeter of the client site to act as a further deterrent to would be criminals.

Each site is equipped with a silent panic button system linked to MONITOR NET, which is used in serious situations or where the security officer is unable to report a situation on the two-way radio. This is a compulsory service for the client at an additional charge.

The armed response package includes unlimited responses to the client's premises upon occurrence of an adverse situation as well as a rendezvous service. Response vehicles also conduct patrols of the areas in which we operate and additional specialised patrols can be arranged for business and residential properties at an additional charge.

TACTICAL SUPPORT response vehicles are equipped with a Motorola mobile two-way radio for communication, an LED Maglite torch with rechargeable batteries, a high-powered search light, a stun gun, a fire extinguisher, a basic first aid kit, hand-cuffs, heavy duty cable ties, a tonfa baton and GPS navigation (if needed by the Supervisor).

In addition to the equipment on the response vehicles, TACTICAL SUPPORT supervisors are equipped with pepper spray, hand cuffs, full combat uniform and cell phone-based panic buttons.

Sites guarded by TACTICAL SUPPORT are equipped with a Guard Track guard monitoring system which is included in the standard monthly fee. The equipment, hardware and installation cost of the system is entirely for the account of TACTICAL SUPPORT. This system is used by security officers and supervisors to record their patrols and the reports, generated by the system, are reviewed by Senior Supervisors to ensure that the services provided by TACTICAL SUPPORT is in line with our service level agreement entered into with the client.

Depending on the size of the client site, security officers are also provided with a mountain bicycle to be used for patrolling the premises. This enables security officers to cover far larger areas in shorter periods of time, ultimately resulting in more frequent patrols being conducted. Additional specialised patrols (in addition to the standard site visits and vehicle patrols) can be arranged with TACTICAL SUPPORT. The patrolling Supervisor will tag a Guard Track clock point situated at the client's premises as proof of visiting the site.
